We went to FACTS Spring edition 2025!

WHOOP WHOOP. We were so excited to attend FACTS Spring edition 2025. Like we always are. And you know... Excited is an understatement. FACTS is definitely one of our favorite comic cons and we couldn't wait to be there. Held at the Flanders Expo in Ghent, the event took place two full days, offering visitors a chance to dive into a world of movies, series, gaming, and more.

FACTS Spring 2025

This edition featured an incredible lineup of celebrity guests. Elijah Wood, known for his iconic role as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings. Jason Priestley and Gabrielle Carteris brought a wave of '90s nostalgia with their Beverly Hills 90210 reunion. For fans of Harry Potter Evanna Lynch, the beloved Luna Lovegood, was there. We were also happy to see Ryan Hurst, famous for Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead. And let’s not forget Ben Barnes, who shared insights into his roles in Shadow and Bone and Westworld.

The activities were just as exciting as the guest list. Excited is an understatement! The Artist Alley was awesome. So much creativity. The Geek Market was a paradise for collectors. We also loved the Gaming Zones, which featured retro games, VR experiences, and tabletop adventures. And, of course, cosplay was a highlight, with so many people showing their best costumes and participating in contests and community meetups.

Love the atmosphere

FACTS always looks magical. And we love it. We started off strong—by geeking out over some awesome cars from movies and series! One of the absolute standouts? A car from The Simpsons, with the whole family visible in the windows. It was hilarious and so perfectly done! We also spotted the Starsky & Hutch car and the magical Ford Anglia from Harry Potter. Talk about nostalgia!

We always to see the fan groups too. Such a fun area and there´s so much to see. The Belgian Potterheads created an awesome Harry Potter-inspired stand—pure magic, with all the vibes! We also loved meeting the amazing people from Ranger Nation Belgium. Their stand looked awesome, and they were incredibly friendly. Add to that the Belgian LEGO User Group with impressive builds and the ever-cool R2 Builders, who brought their droids—including a pink R2-D2! We loved this.

And there were pinball machines at FACTS too! Of course, we couldn’t resist that! We played a few and had such a good time. The Stranger Things machine was our personal favorite—cool design, fun gameplay, and just the right amount of chaos.

Meeting the actors

One of the biggest highlights? Liv got not one, not two, but three amazing celeb moments—a selfie and autograph from Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, and Andrew McCarthy! Each one brought their own energy and exitement, and Liv  made some unforgettable memories (and awesome photos, of course).

Gabrielle was so kind and down-to-earth. Fans will know her best as Andrea Zuckerman from Beverly Hills, 90210, and she had such a great connection with everyone she met. Jason Priestley’s table was great too—he was just as cool and charismatic as you’d hope. And Andrew McCarthy? Super friendly and really took the time with everyone. A true 80s icon with a calm, charming presence!

Panels

We went to see Gabrielle Carteris’ panel, and it was lovely. If she weren’t an actress? She’d probably be a therapist—but also joked about being an astronaut or neuroscientist! When asked which celebrity she’d trade lives with for a day, she didn’t even hesitate: Prince. And finally, the best advice she’s ever received? “Never read your press.” A powerful reminder to stay grounded, stay focused, and keep your eyes on what truly matters.

Later, we headed to the panel of Jason Priestley, and it was such a fun dive into his career. Fans asked great questions, and Jason shared stories from his time on 90210 and beyond. A charming, relaxed presence—just the way we remember him.

One of the most anticipated panels was Elijah Wood, and wow—it was packed. He was incredibly enthusiastic, super kind to every fan, and gave thoughtful answers to every question. He shared that The Ice Storm is one of his favorite and a turning point—it marked the moment where he transitioned from child actor to more mature roles. It was a film with a brilliant cast and director, and he said it really shaped what he wanted to do going forward. When asked what character he’d be in Middle-earth (besides Frodo), he smiled and said a hobbit—because that’s what he identifies with most. And some fun moments too: He laughed when someone asked what kind of meat he prefers—he said he loves chicken and a good steak. As for music? He’s a big Radiohead fan, calling In Rainbows his favorite album, though OK Computer is a masterpiece. His favorite song? Paranoid Android.

As if the day hadn’t been packed enough, we finished things off by attending the panel of Andrew McCarthy. (Because yes—there’s always room for one more awesome guest at FACTS!).

So much to do!

We also braved the Haunted Maze by Haunted Maze Belgium, and it was amazing! Super atmospheric, full of creepy moments and well-designed scares. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into spooky vibes. After the panels and fun, we took a stroll back through the merchandise area—so many amazing things to see (and want to buy!). Then we grabbed a drink outside and just soaked in the sunshine. The weather was absolutely perfect, and it was the ideal way to wrap up the day.

From the magical fan stands and legendary cars to celeb encounters, panels, and pink droids—FACTS Convention once again proved why it’s one of our favorite events. We had an absolute blast and can’t wait to return!
