Where it felt like January took about a year, February went by quickly! And February was the month of our first comic con of 2020 (Comic Con Brussels)! Oh yeah. But we're not talking about that today. Right now, we'll show you all the movies we watched in February!
Carola
A Hidden Life
Year: 2019
Genre: Biography, drama
IMDB score: 7,6
My score: 6,5
Remark: A Hidden Life is a movie about the Austrian Franz Jagerstatter. He lives in a small Austrian village with his wife and children. In World War II, he refuses to fight for the Nazis. I watched this movie in the cinema. It's a good movie, but the pace is a bit too slow for me. I liked how they showed how Franz and his family lived before. But the middle part took quite long in my opinion.
Bad Boys For Life
Year: 2020
Genre: Comedy/ Action
IMDB score: 7,2
My score: 7
Remark: Bad Boys For Life! In this movie Will Smith and Martin Lawrence play Bad Boys Mike and Marcus again. They're back for one last ride. I was excited to see this movie and I really liked it. There were some predictable/ standard moments in the movie, but overall I had a great time watching. I love the action and the humor.
Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Year: 2018
Genre: Comedy/ Crime
IMDB score: 7,1
My score: 7,5
Remark: Lee Israel is a writer. But it's been a while since she wrote her last book. It's hard. She wants to write. Needs to. She's behind on rent and really needs a new book. But when that's not working out, she needs to find another way to get money..
This was one of the movies I got for Christmas. I finally watched it this month and I really liked this movie!
The Lighthouse
Year: 2019
Genre: Drama/ Horror
IMDB score: 7,7
My score: 8
Remark: I'm so happy I FINALLY got the chance to see this movie. It took so long for the movie to get in the cinemas here. On Instagram I even saw people already buying the DVD. And here it wasn't even in the cinema yet! But I'm happy I saw it and I loved the movie. It stars Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as 2 lighthouse keepers who are isolated on an island. As time passes by, it's harder and harder to stay sane.
Jojo Rabbit
Year: 2019
Genre: Drama/ Comedy
IMDB score: 8
My score: 7
Remark: On the same evening as when I watched the Lighthouse, I also decided to see Jojo Rabbit. A movie about a young little boy, considering himself a nazi. At one point, he finds out that his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their house.
Asylum
Year: 1972

Remark: I love horror movies, so I was happy to watch this one. In Asylum, a young psychiatrist must interview 4 patients in the asylum.
Cafe Derby
Year: 2015
Genre: Drama
IMDB score: 6,8
My score: 7
Remark: Cafe Derby is a movie about Georges, a market vendor. When he hears the Pope is coming to Belgium, he decides to rent cafe Derby. He is convinced he will earn a fortune when the Pope is visiting.
This was one the movies I got for Christmas and I was very curious to see it. I thought it was a good movie. A surprising movie with an interesting story.
Hausu (House)
Year: 1977
Genre: Comedy, horror
IMDB score: 7,4
My score: 7,5
Remark: A movie I have from the Eureka DVD collection. I like watching Eureka movies and I hadn't seen this one yet. (But owned it already for like 6 months or so).
Hausu (House) is about a girl and her classmates visiting her aunt. But her aunt's house seems to be haunted.
I really liked this film: creative and surprising!
Werk Ohne Autor (Never look away)
Year: 2018
Genre: Drama, history
IMDB score: 7,7
My score: 7,5
Remark: In Werk Ohne Autor (Never Look Away) artist Kurt Barnert has escaped East Germany and now lives in West Germany. But he is tormented by his childhood under the Nazis and the GDR-regime.
3-Iron (Bin-jip)
Year: 2004
Genre: Drama, crime
IMDB score: 8
My score: 7
Remark: I have this movie and had no idea what to expect. 3-Iron is a movie about a young man who breaks into empty homes to live there for a few days when the owners are on holiday.
Muidhond (Tench)

Ahhh February, finally the Comic Con season is starting and my watch list from this month is fully dedicated to my preparation for Liverpool Comic Con. So let me tell you what I watched this past month.
American Pie 3: The Wedding
Year: 2003
Genre: Comedy
IMDB score: 6,3
My score: 6,5
Remark: Last month, I watched some "American Pie" movies to prepare for the "American Pie" reunion that is set to happen at Comic Con Liverpool. I absolutely love the movies, so it's no punishment to watch them again. Although this third installment is not as good as the first one, I do like it and it has some very funny scenes.
American Reunion
Year: 2012
Genre: Comedy
IMDB score: 6,7
My score: 7
Remark: I actually hadn't seen this one yet. I knew there was a fourth movie, but somehow I just never got to watching it. I immediately got the "American Pie" feeling again, which is partly because of the soundtrack. I liked it!
Point Break
Year: 1991
Genre: Action/Crime
IMDB score: 7,4
My score: 8
Remark: Another movie I have watched multiple times already, but it was a while ago that I watched it. The story revolves around Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves), a young FBI agent that has to go undercover in a group of surfers to find the ones responsible for multiple bank robberies. The group is led by the charismatic Bodhi ( Patrick Swayze) and the two men develop a remarkable friendship. To get into the group, he gets close to Bodhi's ex girlfriend Tyler, played by Lori Petty. And she is coming to Liverpool!
Police Academy
Year: 1984
Genre: Comedy
IMDB score: 6,7
My score: 7,5
Remark: Steve Guttenberg will be a guest at Comic Con Liverpool and we already bought our photo op with him. He is mostly known for his role in this movie (franchise), but he played in a lot of movies in the 80s and 90s. I must have watched "Police Academy" more than a dozen times over the years, but I still love it! Mahoneeeeeeey!
A League of Their Own
Year: 1992
Genre: Comedy
IMDB score: 7,2
My score: 8
Remark: 'There is no crying in baseball'. One of the best scenes from the movie and classic Tom Hanks. I think this is one of my favorite movies from the 90s. I mean: Tom Hanks and Geena Davis in a movie about baseball. Oh and Lori Petty of course, she plays the role of Kit Keller.
Three Men and a Baby
Year: 1987
Genre: Comedy
IMDB score: 6
My score: 6,5
Remark: Another re-watch of a Steve Guttenberg movie. Besides Guttenberg the movie also stars two other big names from the 80s: Ted Danson and Tom Selleck.
Three Men and a Little Lady
Year: 1990
Genre: Comedy
IMDB score: 5,4
My score: 6
Remark: The sequel for "Three Men and a Baby". Yes it's a bit corny and yes it's predictable, but sometimes that is just ok!
Short Circuit
Year: 1986
Genre: Comedy/Family
IMDB score: 6,7
My score: 6,5
Remark: Steve Guttenberg again. I saw this movie once before, but that was ages ago. This movie can be described as a mix of "E.T." and "Wall-E". Just good old 80s family fun!
Urban Legend
Year: 1998
Genre: Horror/Thriller
IMDB score: 5,6
My score: 5
Remark: Rewatched this one for Tara Reid ( Vicky in "American Pie"). Story about a serial killer that uses urban legends as an inspiration for the way of killing.
Election
Year: 1999
Genre: Comedy/Drama
IMDB score: 7,2
My score: 7,5
Remark: This movie was Chris Klein's debut movie and he plays one of the starring roles. You might know Chris Klein for his role as Oz in the "American Pie" franchise and he is one of the guests for Comic Con Liverpool. Chris was plucked out of High School to audition foe the role of Paul Metzler in "Election"
