During our holiday to Los Angeles, we of course also visited the Hollywood Museum!! At the Hollywood Museum, you can see an extensive collection of Hollywood memorabilia. It has four floors with exhibits, more than 10.000 authentic show biz treasures. From costumes to props, scripts and posters to photographs and personal artifacts: there's so much to see at the Hollywood Museum.
In this article, we will show a little bit of we saw and did in the museum. To see it all, you'll have to visit the museum yourself ;).
The Dungeon of Doom
As huge horror fans, we kicked off with the Dungeon of Doom. Oh yeah! Let's take a look at everything we saw in that Dungeon of Doom!
There was so much to see! From a top 40 list with horror films (where the Exorcist ranked 1) and list with vampires, actors and more to movie props and costumes. As you can see on one of the pictures, there's a picture of me, sitting before the jail cell of Silence of the Lambs! Oh yeah. That was so cool. You could walk through the actual prison corridor set used in the Silence of the Lambs. And you could see Hannibal Lecter's jail cell, with authentic props from the movie. This was definitely a highlight in the Dungeon of Doom. Besides that, I really enjoyed seeing the costumes, looking at old movie posters, and reading about so many horror movies I love (Like the Shining, House of 1000 Corpses, Misery and more!
Going up: Makeup rooms
After having fun at the Dungeon of Doom, we went up to another floor. There, the first thing we saw, were some Max Factor makeup rooms.
That looks awesome right? I will show you some of the things we saw next... There was a lot to see. A huge collection of autographs (Wow!! I still have a loooooong way to go collecting autographs!). And as you can see some Star Wars items as well. Love it! There's a lot to see and a big variety in movies, posters, props and things to read. Take some time to really look at everything at this floor.
Superheroes and more
Next up, were for us the Superheroes. We went to the upper floor. There we saw some superheroes. But also a lot more. Movie posters, comics, props and way more, just have a look at the pictures below!
Hollywood museum
We visited the Hollywood museum on one of our last days in Los Angeles. We went to Hollywood for the day and visited the Hollywood Museum, Madame Tussauds Hollywood and we had dinner at Hardrock Cafe Hollywood. We had a great day! My favorite part of the Hollywood Museum was the Dungeon of Doom! Have you ever visited the Hollywood Museum?
